ARS POVERA - germano celant - part 1 of 4

I loaned this enormously beautiful black and white, thick-paged, carefully designed book from the library: Ars Povera (1969, first edition, studio wasmuth, tübingen), with one of the earliest texts setting out to describe Art Povera by Germano Celant.
Celant made a very strong selection of the period's most important and innovative practitioners, such as Walter de Maria, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Stephen Kaltenbach, Richard Long, Mario Merz, Douglas Huebler, Joseph Beuys, Eva Hesse, Michael Heizer, Ger Van Elk, Lawrence Weiner, Luciano Fabro, Bruce Nauman, Joseph Kosuth, Jan Dibbets, Giovanni Anselmo, Robert Barry, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Dennis Oppenheim, Barry Flanagan, Robert Smithson, Giulio Paolini, Reiner Ruthenbeck, Alighiero Boetti, Keith Sonnier, Giuseppe Penone, Franz Erhard Walther, Hans Haacke, Gilberto Zorio, Robert Morris, Marinus Boezem, Carl Andre, Emilio Prini, Richard Serra.
